Safety rules for your Salzburg visit


Is there a quarantine obligation?

No, entry is possible without quarantine (regulations may change!)

The 3-G rule:

Guests have to show a valid negative test result, proof of vaccination or confirmation of having had COVID-19 (proof of testing is now only required from the age of 12). Then you can enjoy Salzburg again.


City tours: no registration - and testing obligation with 3G rules.

We will guide you safely through the city - and keep a distance of 2m ;)

Indoors: FFP2 -masks in closed rooms, banks, public transportations and public facilities are obligatory - always bring your mask, please

Outdoor tours:

max. 16 persons per guide from different households + 10 underage children

Indoor tours: max. 8 persons per guide from different households + underage children

No registration obligation - and testing obligation with 3G

Groups 17-50 persons are subject to registration and 3G regulation

Gastronomy: 3G rule

Restrictions due to opening and closing hours are eliminated for some locations. Bars and light clubs are subject to changes.

No more minimum distance between groups of visitors or guests

Visitor group regulations are completely eliminated

The consumption of food and beverages is no longer only permitted while seated at serving stations, but is once again also possible while standing

No mask obligation (neither FFP2 nor other mouth-nose protection) for guests also in indoor areas

The 3-G rule:

Guests still have to show a valid negative test result, proof of vaccination or confirmation of having had COVID-19 (proof of testing is now only required from the age of 12).

The 3-G rule is waived for food and beverage pickup and snack stands (customers must then wear mouth/nose protection indoors, however)

Guest registration requirement: too longer needed since of July, 22nd 2021


Recreational facilities: 3G rule

Registration required if length of stay is more than 15 minutes

No registration required if mainly outdoors (e.g. zoo)

Museum visits and trade: no entry test required

FFP2 mask obligation for visitors

Limitation of the number of visitors: 10m² / visitor

Minimum distance of 2 meters, from persons with whom you do not live in the same household
